Are there special events surrounding Art21 in the Texas Panhandle?
Yes…and please come! The Amarillo Museum of Art is partnering with KACV to host a screening of the new Art21 episode “Change” at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 in the Museum’s 3rd floor Library. All Amarillo College faculty, staff and students are invited and the event is also free and open to the general public. A light lunch will be provided.
Participants may also view the Museum’s exhibition of Student and Faculty art work from Amarillo College and West Texas A&M University following the screening.
What’s the new Art21 season all about?
Art21 Season 6 includes 13 profiles of artists from five continents gathered into four, one-hour thematic episodes. Spanning the glove from Nigeria to New York City, from Beijing to Brazil, the programs reveal the artists at work and speaking in their own words.
Season 6 artists include Marina Abramovic, Ai Weiwei, David Atmejd, El Anatsui, assume vivid astro focus, Lynda Benglis, Rackstraw Downes, Glenn Ligon, Robert Mangold, Catherine Opie, Mary Reid Kelley, Sarah Sze and Tabaimo.

Where can I view Art21?
The new Season 6 of Art21 premieres on KACV, Public Television for the Texas Panhandle, on April 13th, 2012. KACV’s broadcast dates and times are:
“Change,” Friday 4/13 at 8pm and Sunday 4/15 at 1am
“Boundaries,” Friday 4/20 at 8pm and Sunday 4/22 at 1am
“History,” Friday 4/27 at 8pm and Sunday 4/29 at 1am
“Balance,” Friday 5/04 at 8pm and Sunday 5/06 at 1am
