The
core of PBS Ready To Learn is
non-violent, commercial-free, educational
children's television programming
broadcast free of charge and KACV-TV
devotes over 10 hours every weekday
to children's programming. Also,
through PBS Ready To Learn,
the Station provides additional services
to parents, childcare providers and
other early childhood educators,
including workshops/training, distribution
of children's books, and distribution
of PBS Families/Para la Familia,
as well as other educational materials
that support children's learning.
During the 2002-03 service year,
KACV educated over 500 adults, distributed
over 4,000 books, and reached over
3,000 at-risk children.
